Salaries and Allowances of Armed Forces Officers

Indian Army is 3rd most powerful Army in world and every year it keeps increasing its strength by hiring more and more talented candidates. These hiring are done through the procedure called Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview.  Indian Army organizes various entries twice an year. Below are Officer Level Entries in Indian Army:

  1. National Defence Academy (NDA)
    Age: 16.5 to 19.5 years
    Qualification: 10+2
  2. 10+2 Technical Entry
    Age: 16.5 to 19.5 years
    Qualification: 10+2 (70% marks in PCM)
  3. Indian Military Academy (IMA) – Non-Technical
    Age: 19 to 24 years
    Qualification: Graduation
  4. Short Service Commission (SSC) – Non Technical
    Age: 19 to 25 years
    Qualification: Graduation
  5. SSC (Tech Men & Women)
    Age: 19 to 27 years 
    Qualification: BE/BTech stream of Engineering/ BArch, MSC Computer
  6. NCC Special Entry (Men & Women)
    Age: 19 to 25 Years

    Qualification: Graduate 50% aggregate “A” or “B” in NCC “C” Certificate.
  7. Technical Graduate Course (TGC)
    Age: 21 to 27 years

    Qualification: BTech or BE or BArch or MSC Computer
  8. University Entry Scheme (UES)
    Age: 18 to 24 years 

    Qualification: Pre Final Year Engineering Students.
  9. Technical Graduate Course (Graduation)
    Age: 23 to 27 years

    Qualification: MA or MSC in 1st or 2nd Division
  10. Judge Advocate General (JAG) for Men & Women
    Age: 21 to 27 Years

    Qualification: Law graduate LLB with 55% marks registered with Bar Council of India or State
  11. Combined Defence Services (Men & Women)
    Age: 19-25
    Qualification: Graduation
